The society's attitude towards information and its spreading are changing at a furious pace. In recent time we’ve seen new needs from of the customers that requires changes in how we present and take in information in to the systems. When the use of mobile applications is now increasing exponentially, we need to give the customers the ability to access vital data and information about their network whenever and wherever they are in the world.
Today, everyone takes for granted that everything can be done from a mobile phone and a tablet. Ease of use has come in to a new focus. Sure, it has been essential before, but now it is with entirely different requirements: We need to deal with requests such as: large fingers, small screens, landscape/portrait screens, show only relevant information for the right person, etc. All these requirements are in line with how society is more and more accepting the mobile phone to take the place as the hub for all of life's information flows.
A challenge for an energy company is thus to have a mobile, easy and customized interface towards all possible recipients that has to do with the business and at the same time ensure that the information is secure and properly updated, i.e. retain high quality!
Many can develop a sleek, mobile and user-friendly interface. But to do that and at the same time maintain a high data quality, that is slightly more interesting. For example: Consider how you handle the process of connecting a new customer in your electricity network, where you have several different contractors with diverse skills, to access and modify the stage-managed data in real time and in a controlled, secure, accurate, mobile and user-friendly mannerisms!
The launch of a powerful mobile application
We have already solved it, thanks to our customers. We recently launched dpWebmap, a mobile application that makes network data available in an effective and accessible manner. With dpWebmap the network operators will efficient their communication with external resources in a simple and user-friendly way, and visualize the correct information in real time to technicians in the field.
With the addition Organizer Web the user can take in project status from the field, directly linked to the project area and its contents, build processes to external partners and restrict their access to information to only that which is necessary. This creates a controlled transparency internally and externally, and the work gets more efficient.
dpWebmap is a client that runs completely in the web browser with a responsive interface suitable for all platforms. It is available as a supplement to all Digpro’s utilities, and is an excellent tool for making data available externally and/or internally. By using dpWebmap customers can access the network and background data in any web browser.
It is about developing innovations within geographic information technology that creates value for the customers. It is about turning raw data into real benefits for millions of people. When the use of mobile applications is now increasing exponentially, we need to give the customers the ability to access vital data and information about their network whenever and wherever they are in the world.
